About the Mind Time Traveling Exercise Infographic
About the Mind Time Traveling Exercise: The Mind Time Traveling Infographic was developed by Marisol Ada, LCSW, and is based on the psychological concept of mental time travel—the ability to mentally revisit experiences from the past and imagine possible experiences in the future. The future-focused part of this process is also known as episodic future thinking or episodic simulation. In this exercise, a person looks back at a difficult situation and considers a healthier way they could have responded. Then, they look ahead and imagine using that healthier response if a similar situation happens again. The exercise is designed to help people learn from past experiences, practice different responses, and prepare to make healthier choices in the future.
